The Regional Historical Museum promotes the activitiy in the territory of Veliko Tarnovo and Gabrovo district. In the collection, about 200,000 cultural artifacts are preserved. Some of them are unique not only in Bulgaria, but also in the southeastern Europe. Among these artifacts, there are
• golden treasures from the Paleolithic Period, which is the oldest gold in the world.
• rich collections of Roman ceramics and bronze arts.
• stone arts and ornaments from every period.
• icons and church plates, and lot of objects from customs of Bulgarian people over the centuries.
