A town with long history. The Patriarchy Court is a seat of bishop of Srem Mitropoly and has a status of summer residence for Serbian patriarch. In the very neighborhood of Sremski Karlovci, scattered on the mountain are the sixteen monasteries of Fruska Gora.
This region is a home of best grape sorts and best wine of Srem.
