This unique carnival incorporates the town of Gabrovo into the big family of carnival towns – members of the Foundation of European Carnival Towns. The carnival procession attracts annually in May thousands of guests and participants from the country and abroad. The famous Gabrovo cat parts ritually with its tail, leading the cheerful, noisy multi-coloured crowds of masked people along the streets of the town.
