Motovun Film Festival
About the event
An international film festival dedicated to low-production films and to independent production. Founded in 1999 the event aims, through an exchange of ideas and international contacts, to contribute to the development and production of independent film in Croatia. It has since grown into one of the top culture events in the country.
About 80 films (mostly open-air screenings) are shown during the festival’s five days and nights during which Motovun, a picturesque Istrian town, lives and breathes the festival and plays host to over 20 000 viewers. Best films in the various categories are granted awards. The festival’s top recognition is the “Motovun Propeller”, awarded to the best film in the main program. The festival is accompanied by numerous events and the dynamic life of Motovun’s streets.
