Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

Virgin Mary is the holier person of Orthodoxy and her name is celebrated with big beliefs in the various parts of Greece. Depending on the place that was found her picture or the marvels that have been realised with her own benedictions, the Virgin Mary is accompanied by various names. Like in every other part of Greece, the celebration of the Virgin Mary (on the 15th of August) is one of the most important feasts in Tinos. A religious ceremony is held in honour of the Virgin, followed by dances, eating and drinking until dawn.
