The Project is produced within the framework of the biennial project Encouraging the Use of the New Methodology in the teaching, Preservation and Promotion of Cultural and Environmental Heritage, funded by British Council Bulgaria through the British Council Cultural and Environmental Heritage Fund for South East Europe. It is realised by a team of specialists from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Association for Cultural Tourism and ICOMOS/Bulgaria, in cooperation with British Council Bulgaria, under the leadership of Professor Todor Krestev. As a result is created the Laboratory (MMHLab) – a modern multimedia centre for cultural heritage, provided with the necessary hardware, software and humanware. Within the frameworks of the Project was studied the British experience in the field of information methods and technologies, specialists in the field were trained, pilot database of educational information was created and a Workshop (20 April 2005) was organised. The first practical realisation of MMHLab was the preparation of the Multimedia Exhibition The Cultural Heritage of South East Europe during the Regional Forum in Varna Cultural Corridors of South East Europe (20-21 May 2005), which was highly estimated on an international level. Afterwards, in MMHLab were technologically prepared the projects: The Children and the Cultural Heritage of South East Europe, 2005-2006, the Website Cultural Corridors of South East Europe, 2006, the Exhibition at the Regional Forum The Trans-Balkan Cultural Corridor, Plovdiv, 2007 and Heritage: ESPRIT, 2007-2008. As a part of the implementation of the latter, MMHLab was enriched and developed with new technological equipment. Today, the whole base is used most actively for the education of students of Architecture and Urbanism in subjects, connected with cultural heritage. In this way, the Project proved its exceptional durability in time.
